The Heartland Community College Foundation recently received an endowment of $140,000 from the Estate of Florence Marie Ronnow-Burcky (Bowman). The gift marks the largest single non-corporate gift from an individual in the college's history and will be used to create a memorial scholarship in honor of her mother, Pearl Davies Bowman (1887-1974).
Marie (1918-2007), daughter of Pearl and Charles Bowman, was a resident of Pontiac for most of her life and spent her last years in Colorado Springs, Colorado. James A. Bowman, Marie's brother and Personal Representative of the Florence Marie Ronnow-Burcky Estate, selected Heartland Community College to receive the endowment as the educational institution best able to fulfill the wishes of his sister's Last Will and Testament.
